Louis Vuitton Unveils Latest Collection With Show at France’s Majestic Palais des Papes

PARIS () – On Thursday, Louis Vuitton’s women’s wear creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, presented the brand’s Cruise 2026 collection within the expansive central courtyard of the historic Palais des Papes fortress in Southern France.

The spectators were seated on tiers along the catwalk setup, featuring prominent figures such as French First Lady Brigitte Macron, actresses Catherine Deneuve and Cate Blanchett, alongside Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton’s men’s wear artistic director, who was also present at the event.

The models emerged shortly after dusk wearing metallic jacket suits, expansive capes adorned with flame-patterned designs, and gladiator-style footwear encrusted with mirrored glass. Additional elements like extra pleats or cascading chains enhanced their movements and silhouettes, whereas more relaxed ensembles featured tiered boho skirts paired with voluminous wide-sleeve blouses.

The showcase hosted by the LVMH-controlled brand—the global leader in luxury—occurred amidst the ongoing challenges faced by the high-end market. This period has seen several major fashion houses like Kering’s Gucci and Balenciaga, independently operated Chanel, along with LVMH’s own Dior, appointing fresh creative directors.

Meanwhile, Ghesquiere plans to remain in his role, having assumed it back in 2013, for an extended period following the extension of his contract towards the end of 2023.
